Home United (U18) boys beat last year champion's Min Yi last night with the final score 61-57. It was a tightly contested match with both teams fighting hard to win their first match of the second round. Mitchell (no.8) and Leonard(No.15) leads the team's scoring with 26 points and 12 points respectively, secured the win for Home United.
Home United was trailing behind in the first two quarters. The first quarter end with the score 17-18. Min Yi tried to put Home United behind but can only lead 4 points at the end of the second quarter. Home United's attack were in the first two quarters were miserable. With Mitchell(No.8) and Leonard (No.15) putting Home in contest for the game.
When the 3rd quarter started, Home United seems to put more pressure on their opponent. The coach deploy a full court man press and full deny on Min Yi's No.6 - The players behind their set play. It seems effective as he was not able to create too much problem for Home United. No.4 Runchao and No.9 Jason Wong put together some fine defence to hold off Min Yi's No.6. The third quarter ended with Home United leading by 2 points, 41-39
Mitchell hit two 3-pointer in the 4th quarter to put Home United right back on track. In the end,
it was a Home's team and fighting spirits that hold off their opponent. It was a sweet victory for Home United.
On the other side, the girls team (U18) beat T-net with the score 52-35 to secure their place in the final round.
